The Colorado wine industry unexpectedly lost one of its own last week. In the industry, Katie Page Nielsen was a ray of hope and an inspiration to many. She shared her extensive knowledge of wine in an effort to inspire others and share the gift of fermented grape juice. On November 18, 2022, a Friday, Katie Page Nielsen died. Her passing was reported on Facebook. At the young age of 35, she passed away. No known cause of death.


The Women's Wine Guild of Colorado released the following statement: "Last week, the Colorado wine industry tragically and unexpectedly lost one of our own. In our field, Katie Page Nielsen was a beacon of hope and an inspiration to so many. She attempted to uplift others and spread the gift of fermented grape juice by imparting her extensive knowledge of wine. Katie thought that wine was meant to be enjoyed by everyone at any time and brought people together.

The birth of Katherine Page Nielsen occurred on January 3, 1987. She was the wife of the legendary realtor @nielsenhomescolorado and a skilled dinner party hostess and sommelier. She was a Denver, Colorado, resident. Kathrine received her degree from San Diego State. She exuded happiness, compassion, silliness, fun, and a deep love of people, which she demonstrated throughout her life, career, and extensive network of best friends. Anyone who had the good fortune to meet her knew this.

A GoFundMe page has been created by Denver, Colorado resident Brooke Page to help the family with funeral and other costs during this trying time. $50,000 was the target amount for the "Katie's Sunshine Fund" page. It has already raised $46,102. "We are all grieving together with her close family, especially her husband Jon-Scott, and the countless friends she made feel like family. A message on the fundraising page read, "May we all try our best to hold the warmth she so kindly gave us."


Obituary for Katie Page Nielsen Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 29, at 10 a.m. at St. Timothy's Church in Littleton, located at 1401 East Dry Creek Road. After that, there will be a reception at Point Easy, 2000 East 28th Avenue, Denver, from 1-3 PM. Anyone is welcome.
