Herbert Ray Cook, 81, of Licking, died on November 16, 2022, at his daughter's home in Springfield. Herbert Cook was born on June 3, 1941, in Licking, Missouri, to Herbert and Gladys (Ellis) Cook.
Herbert enjoyed being outside. He could be found in the deer woods or at a favorite fishing hole. His hunting and fishing knowledge benefited all of his children and many of his grandchildren. Herbert and his late wife, Mabel, took several exciting trips across the country.
He also enjoyed camping and enjoyed taking his children with him. He enjoyed a good fish fry and was an excellent camp cook. Herbert enjoyed attending auctions and even volunteered.
Herbert is survived by his son, Kenny Cook (Becky); daughters, Kerri Oberbeck (Stacey) and Kim Ruth (Eric), as well as their mother, Shirley Sell; brothers, Bill Cook (Wilma) and Roy Cook (Nancy); sisters, Margaret Little (Jim), Cheryl Shores (Mike), and Mary Kimrey (Scott); ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. His wife, Mabel Cook; parents, Herbert and Gladys Cook; brother, Charlie Cook; and great grandson, James Ward all predeceased him.
Herbert's visitation was held at Fox Funeral Home on Friday, November 18, 2022, from 6-8 p.m. Pastor Paul Richardson officiated at the funeral service on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Craddock Cemetery was used for the interment. Ethan Overbeck, Matt Little, Travis Cook, Jason Todaro, Stacey Overbeck, and Scott served as pallbearers.
