Raymond Blanco's death- Raymond Blanco, the late wife of former Louisiana Governor Kathleen Blanco and a legendary figure at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, died on Saturday. He was 87. Blanco, affectionately known as "Coach," worked at the university for 46 years before retiring in 2009, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to the institution's faculty, staff, and students. He was hired as an assistant football coach when he first arrived at the university.

Raymond Blanco, who is he?

Later, he served as dean of students before being promoted to vice president for student affairs. He would, however, be inextricably linked to his wife Kathleen, Louisiana's first and only female governor. She held this position from 2004 to 2008, and she battled cancer for a long time before dying in 2019. They'd been married for 54 years and had six children.
