Anna “Bethea” Hanny, 68, passed away, obituary, funeral



On November 11, 2022, Anna Bethea Hanny, 68, tragically lost her life while scuba diving in Roatan, Honduras. Merrill, her sweetheart, was by her side.
Bethea Andrews was born to devoted parents Ray and Maxine Andrews on July 27, 1954. She was born in Osgood, Idaho, the second of six children, and as the family grew, she later moved to Ammon, Idaho. She left a lasting impression on the family with her joy.

She participated actively in numerous clubs throughout junior high and senior high school, including Drama, Pep, Thespian, Medical Careers, and Concert Choir. She later performed in neighborhood plays. She earned an associate's degree in nursing from Rick's College. As a registered nurse, Bethea was known for her compassion and gentleness.

At a fireside for young adults, Merrill Grant Hanny was first introduced to her. Were married in the Idaho Falls temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on November 7, 1975, for all of time and all of eternity. They had just celebrated their 47th anniversary of marriage and were away on an anniversary trip when she passed away. Bethea served in a variety of church positions throughout her life and had a strong testimony and love for our Savior, Jesus Christ.
